Description: This complex configuration will actaully turn off your stereos and accesories when the doors open & key is not present or on the off position within the ignition. Its great for people that loves to listen to music while they work on there cars while the door is latch open. Doesn't consume any power when the driver leaves. Transistor used here can actually reduce the cost of using a relay. Drawbacks: Too many parts used.

1. RLY1 -- BASIC 5 - pin RELAY

3. D1 --- DIODE this diode helps block 12V from the battery.
4. R1 ---1.5 to 2 K ohm, 1- 2W: this resistor protects against the grounding (short circuit) of the dome light signal. Without the resistor RY1 won't work. The dome light signal will unlatch the relay 1, thus stopping all power to the stereos. When the dome light signal is not present, the upper part of the resistor becomes ground. This resistor can put out some heat, so use a 1-2W resistor.
