    Figure 1

Description: This fuel cut-off allows you two second to begin starting after the ignition is turned ON. If and when you do not push the button within the two second, you will not be able to start your car. You will then have to turn the ignition on and off agian (to allow another two seconds) to begin your start process againr. Once started, you can crank as long as like since it does not cut the starter.

Pros: Theives cannot find the button within two seconds and confuses them. The push button can be hidden in convient places, for example, undercover between carpets or cloths. Car-jackers are left with a car that cannot start once the engine is off, for example, at a gas stations or during car-jacking. Police reports found that the victim are more likely to be car-jacked with the victim put in the trunk and driven away with your own keys. With this configuration, drivers don't need to be reminded to arm the car before leaving. This device is one of the most practical and cost effective vehicle anti-theft measures. Designed for manual and automatics transmission.

Con: Requires two relay and a tap into the fuel pump wire, which may be hard to find in some cars. SCR: Requires the knowledge of SCR (see picture below). For automatics transmission click here.

Figure 1: This device does the same as figure 1. Introducing an SCR can reduce the cost. SCR are transistor like device that stays on once a positive voltage is applied to the gate. It resets itself once power is diconnected either at the drain or source.

Recent years have been a violent place living Northern California in a city of 200,000. One day my dad came home with a bruised eye and a stolen pick-up truck which was taken by force by bandits who blocked the roadway claiming their street as a no pass zone. The car was recovered at a gas station that left our family with haunting memories and shattered nerves. The same security system was used in this incident which was not helpful in preventing this crime nor did it capture the bandits but the pick-up was recovered undamaged. The best device in preventing such crimes like this is to lock your doors once you get into your car. Crime happens when you least expect it. Not only family and friends are hurt in these cases but the victim as well.
