These diagram like many others are confusing and made just for engineering purposes. Sometimes it may have beeen edited or modified in the last moment of during production and confuse technicians. Sam's Photo fact, on ther other hand, is concise, consistent and easy to locate test points etc. Sam's photofact also take measurement on finished products unlike Yamaha and many other companies which may take measurement at initial production or before.
Other times companies modifiy their circuit board layout every year, like Yamaha, that old schematic a year ago may end up out of date and out the window. It's a good idea for making a profit by introducing new sophisticated products but unwealthy consumer in third world nations may not be able repair them in a cost effective way. Some few manufacturers design products to last long and parts interchangeable for several years making them useful to poor nations.
The positive side of Yamaha's products are plenty. Their products performs in superior fashion much like a BMW would on the road. I own three sets of Yamaha amp and reciever combine. Their sound quality is unmatch for the low price they provide but they are a way too hard to diagnose. Almost a complete disassebly is required just to make a dignified test procedure. Not to mention names but Panasonic and Honda Electronics are easier and dignified to physically diagnose. Honda schematics are drawn similar to Sam's Photofacts which are great for normal people like you and me. But Honda, JVC, Panasonic etc are made for practical, everyday people who may not look for performance. Their products reach more people, creates more memory and effect their lives like no other.
